Dr. Henderson, born and raised in Cartersville, Georgia, grew up playing basketball and volleyball. After graduating from Valdosta State University, she served in the Peace Corps in Ukraine (2011-2014), teaching English and coordinating gender empowerment camps, HIV seminars, and community grants.
Inspired to become an optometrist after seeing her students struggle with vision issues, she returned to the U.S. and attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. Her externships focused on primary care and ocular disease.
Dr. Henderson looks forward to exploring Washington and meeting her new neighbors and patients.
